Principal's Welcome

Welcome To The Education Centre

The Education Centre is a special needs school, for boys and girls of secondary school age (11-16), who have social, emotional and mental health issues.

Many pupils have additional needs associated with autism spectrum disorder or dyslexia. All pupils have an education, health and care plan. A number of local authorities place pupils in the school, with most coming from West Sussex.

The Education Centre strives to ignite our pupils, passion for learning and make their experiences as much fun, meaningful and relevant as possible. We offer an excellent education in a safe, calm, creative, inclusive and stimulating environment.

Our broad balanced curriculum is designed to promote learning, personal growth and development. It includes not only the formal requirements of the National Curriculum but also the range of activities and challenges designed to enrich the curriculum and the experiences of our pupils. We aim to teach children how to grow into positive, responsible people, who can work and cooperate with others, whilst developing knowledge, skills and attitudes to learning, in order to achieve their true potential.

Our dedicated staff will encourage every student to achieve their full potential, to become an independent adult and an active member of their local community.

The importance of our pupils feeling included, having a voice, and being an integral part of their development is vital. Our dedicated staff provide the ideal environment for this. Our staff will encourage every student to achieve their full potential, to become an independent adult and an active member of their local community.

We aim to nurture well rounded, respectful and confident pupils who will develop skills for life-long learning. We encourage them to be creative, unique, open-minded and independent individuals, respectful of themselves and of others in our school, our local community and the wider world. We take our responsibility to prepare children for life in modern Britain very seriously and ensure that the fundamental British Values are introduced, discussed and lived out through the ethos and work of our school.
